The chapter has undertaken numerous creative events to gain publicity for peace and justice issues. A few are pictured here: a daily one-hour vigil at Annapolis City Dock during the Persian Gulf War, a demonstration to protest U.S. policy in Central America, the use of a 60-foot banner reading War is a Game Played by Old Men at the Expense of Humanity during a protest at a fundraiser for the USS Annapolis, a globe frozen into a block of ice which children were asked to chip away at in a symbolic celebration of a nuclear arms treaty, a protest involving public housing residents on how Pentagon spending has robbed their communities of needed funds, and the use of an 50-foot inflatable missile to symbolize opposition to the Star Wars missile defense system.
